And speaking of our award-winning Emerson Speech and Debate team . . .
Our program is expensive to run – it costs $12,000 per year — and without adequate funding, it could go away. What’s so special about speech and debate? From the 6th graders who dive right into debate to the 8th grade culmination speeches, the Speech and Debate Program has raised the educational expectations and standards of our school. Our program is recognized in Los Angeles County and across Southern California as one of absolute excellence. Your continued, generous donations to PACE enable Speech and Debate not only to exist, but to maintain this level of excellence, through (among other things) participation in multiple tournaments per year and having the extra support of a UCLA assistant coach .
