Volunteering at Emerson
Tier II: Classroom, on campus, field trip/event chaperone, office, room parent, parent center
Tier III: Overnight field trip chaperone, cafeteria, student activities
Parents interested in volunteering at Emerson need to be an approved LAUSD volunteer. If you think you may want to volunteer at any point you should fill out the Tier II volunteer application now! It’s quick and is good for the whole year.
- Complete and submit the online volunteer application
- choose Emerson CC
- All documentation should be dropped off to the main office. This includes:
- Volunteer Commitment Form (print this or get a copy from office)
- TB screening test results (TB Form or official blood test document) or TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire AND TB Form completed by your physician (required for tier II and tier III)
- TB clearance is valid for 4 years
- Fingerprinting is also required for tier III positions (like driving for field trips or being one on one with students)
- You only have to be fingerprinted once over the course of your volunteer years at Emerson
- Check status or apply for fingerprinting
- There is a place on Westwood Blvd called Mail and More that makes it quick and easy
Note, previously approved Tier II and Tier III volunteers will need to submit a new/rollover application for each school year. You do not need to redo your fingerprinting or TB testing though unless otherwise notified.
For those who have already submitted your Tier II or Tier III application, please check your email for approval or further instructions.
You can also check your application status in the LAUSD portal, which will display one of the below categories.
